AI-generated music accounted for more than half of new tracks delivered to Deezer on peak days in June 2026, marking the first time synthetic uploads have overtaken human-made submissions on the platform.
Nearly 90,000 AI tracks per day
Deezer says it received an average of approximately 90,000 fully AI-generated tracks per day during June. The figure represents a sharp increase in synthetic music production and shows how quickly generative tools can create content at industrial scale.
Listening remains far below upload volume
Despite the volume of new uploads, fully AI-generated music represents only 1 to 3 percent of total listening on Deezer. The platform excludes detected AI tracks from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists, which limits their organic reach.
Fraud is a major part of the problem
Deezer reports that up to 85 percent of streams on fully AI-generated tracks were fraudulent in 2025. Streams identified as manipulated are removed from royalty calculations so they do not receive payments from the shared royalty pool.
Deezer will remove more synthetic tracks
The company says it will systematically take down AI-generated tracks used for streaming fraud. It also plans to remove synthetic tracks that have not received any streams for at least six months.
How detection works
Deezer’s system looks for technical artifacts left by music-generation models. The company says these signatures are usually inaudible to listeners but can be detected by software and linked to specific model families. Deezer reports 99.8 percent detection accuracy, although this remains a company-provided figure.
Practical significance
The milestone shows that streaming platforms are no longer dealing with AI music as a small experimental category. They are now managing large-scale synthetic supply, fraud controls, recommendation policies and questions about how royalties should be distributed.
Deezer published the figures and policy update in an official newsroom announcement .
