Amazon has introduced Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse, two personal AI devices designed to turn recorded conversations into summaries, reminders and follow-up tasks. Announced on October 15, the launch expands the Bee product line with a wearable and a magnetic phone attachment, alongside new connections to Alexa+ and Amazon.com.
Two ways to carry an AI memory assistant
Bee Frontier can be worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing. It has dual microphones with noise filtering, IP67 water resistance, USB-C charging and up to seven days of battery life. The new Bee Eclipse is a slim, credit-card-sized accessory that magnetically attaches to the back of a phone and is rated for more than 21 days on a charge.
From conversations to useful actions
When a user starts a recording, Bee processes speech to create recaps, insights and to-dos. Amazon gives examples such as remembering plans made with friends, capturing lecture notes or drafting an email after a meeting. The companion mobile app and new desktop app organize the resulting information.
Bee can connect with Gmail, Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook to surface action items, draft follow-up emails and help prepare calendar invitations. Optional integrations with Alexa+ and Amazon.com let users ask for Bee memories by voice or receive shopping recommendations connected to things they discussed.
Recording is not supposed to be invisible
Both devices have a physical control for starting and stopping audio processing and a visible indicator light. Amazon says Bee does not store raw audio: it processes speech in real time and deletes the audio afterward. The company says transcripts are encrypted using keys created and controlled by the user’s device. Bee Eclipse also prompts users to seek permission from call participants when recording begins.
These are Amazon’s stated privacy protections, not an independent audit. Users still need to consider the consent of other people whose conversations might be captured, the accuracy of automated notes, and the sensitivity of connected account data.
Prices and availability
Bee Frontier is available now on Amazon.com for $74.99 in Onyx, Lavender and Sage. Bee Eclipse is expected to follow, starting at $99.99 in Silver, Midnight, Honey and Blush. Amazon has not provided a precise retail launch date for Eclipse in its announcement.
The devices include conversation summaries and 14 days of memory at no additional subscription cost. Bee Pro costs $11.99 per month and adds features including expanded memory and summaries, an AI chat assistant, third-party integrations, Alexa+ and Amazon.com connections, and desktop access. Amazon says new customers receive a 30-day Bee Pro trial.
Why this is a bigger AI story than two gadgets
The launch shows Amazon moving personal AI beyond phones and speakers into small devices that can capture context in the moments when plans and decisions happen. The key product question is whether users will trust an AI memory companion enough to activate it regularly—and whether summaries and reminders deliver value without making conversations feel surveilled.
